27 Steps

These steps are the foundation of much of the dance that is ballet. Rather than overload you with connecting them yet, it’s important to learn one and learn it well. It is the equivalent of learning words before you make sentences. The difference is that the kinesthetic part of your mind works a little differently.

But for now, if you really want to enjoy working your body, start practicing these steps until you feel confident about doing them. First you will get the coordination. Then if you see yourself doing them, you will realize that they have a certain shape that makes them look REALLY good. Unlike aerobic exercise, these steps need strength and technique to make them look right. See how close you can get to making them look like the video…and as always, have fun!
